Homemade Bread Recipes: You’ll Never Buy Bread Again

Homemade Yeast Bread Recipes

We recommend you to use Saf-instant yeast since it does not require proofing.

Basic Sandwich Bread

Needed Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/3 cups water to equal
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoon instant yeast/bread machine yeast or 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Directions:

Mix all the ingredients using a bread machine or mixer in order to get a homogenous mixture. In a case you decide to mix them by hand, you should mix all the ingredients except the floor. Then, add the flour gradually to the other ingredients.

When you notice that the dough is stiff, mix well for another 5-10 minutes.Cover the dough and leave it stay for 20 minutes until it rises to a double in size. Then, divide it into the number of buns or loaves you prefer.

You should grease a baking pan or you can also cover it with a baking paper and place them. Bake bread for 25-30 minutes and buns for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Basic Sourdough Bread

Needed Ingredients:

  • 2 1/3 cups fresh sourdough starter
  • 3 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 ½ cup (approximate) water
  • little tablespoon salt

Directions:

You should mix all the ingredients, except the water. Make sure to knead the dough so it will be thing enough to allow the light to pass through when stretched between four fingers.

Shape it into a loaf and leave it to rise to a double in size. Reshape it again and place it in a baking pan. You should bake it for 30-60 minutes at 400 degrees.

Potato Bread Recipe

Needed Ingredients:

  • 7 ounces of mashed potatoes
  • 2 ½ tablespoons sugar or honey
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons dry yeast or 1 ½ teaspoon saf – instant yeast

Directions:

First, you should prepare the maxed potatoes. Next, put all the ingredients in a kitchen machine and make sure to mix for 6-8 minutes while adding flour. In a case you mix it by hand, you should mix all the ingredients, except the flour. After mixing them all, add the flour.

The dough can be a little bit stickier. Leave it to rise for 20 minutes, punch it down then let it rise again. Bake it for 40-45 minutes at 375 degrees.

French Bread Recipe

Needed Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoonsugar
  • Saf-instant yeast or 1 tablespoon bread machine yeast
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 3 ½ cupsbread flour

Glaze:

  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:

First, you should mix the sugar, salt, and yeast and dissolve them in warm water. Next, add flour gradually until the dough is firm. Leave it to rise for 20 minutes, punch down and let it rise again to a double in size.

Then, place it in a greased pan and leave it to rise again. You should brush the loaf with the glaze and bake for 20-25 minutes at 400 degrees.
